the movie on fire
first of all - Jennifer Lawrence: i am now officially a fan. i’ve been seeing bits and pieces of her interviews and she is adorable. also, she was awesome in the movie.
hokay… on to my thoughts about the movie. it’s really good. i found it quite entertaining. oh, i should make it clear that everything i’m saying about the film is purely based on what i watched - no relation to the book whatsoever. because i have not read the book. yep, for the first time i was not part of the book hoopla. dunno why i never got around to reading it earlier. after it got popular and the movie was being made i consciously decided not to read the books - i was curious how i’d feel if i had no expectations.
anyway, so yea. i was thoroughly entertained. i liked seeing how Katniss was going to make it out of the game. but i wasn’t into the whole Katniss/Peeta thing tho. to me there was zero chemistry between Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. maybe it’s bec i really don’t like Hutcherson. he ain’t pretty to look at (sorry!). my brother says Peeta wasn’t really meant to be drop dead gorgeous - to which i answered: but it’s Hollywood! everyone’s supposed to be pretty! - but whatevs. also, i would’ve liked a little more insight in the whole Capitol/rebellion politics thing. i wanted to feel that there was more at stake, more than the games - which i believe is really the whole story.
i’m about to read the books, find out the whole story. i’ll be back with a book review soon.
